Sete aldeas

Sete aldeas is a traditional Galician folk dance band featuring bagpipes, accordion, saxophones, clarinet and percussion; seven musicians on stage performing dance-driven rhythms with one clear aim: to get the whole crowd on its feet.

Their repertoire includes traditional xotas and muiñeiras, as well as cumbias and waltzes, all filtered through the band’s contemporary approach. In short: Galician music from yesterday, made to dance to today.

Sete aldeas is made up of Marina Vigo, Aleixo Jablonski, Iago Camaño, Alba Malvido, Miguel Rivas, Brais Camaño and Alexandre Fernández, seven musicians with extensive experience in both traditional music and other styles.

After crossing paths in different ensembles and training centres, they came together in this project in 2025, the same year they recorded their self-titled debut album. The name “Sete aldeas” refers to the seven models of Galician settlement identified by José María Tojo in his book "Los asentamientos rurales en Galicia" (1980).

Thanks to the versatility of the ensemble, Sete aldeas offers two live formats: stage concerts and street performances. The repertoire varies depending on the chosen format, with the stage show focusing more closely on the presentation of their recorded work. In both cases, the emphasis is on collective participation through dance, understood as the ultimate purpose of Galician roots music.
