TOR – Galician Cel-Trad MusicBand made up of Cástor Castro (wood flutes), Félix Castro (anglo concertina, diatonic accordion, bagpipes), Álvaro Iglesias (double bass) and Xosé Liz (bouzouki).Their repertoire is composed of potpourris or medleys of instrumental tracks taken from the Galician tradition, highlighting pipers and musicians from the inlands of Galicia. Their main source is the large archive of old scores and records, as well as field recordings made by its members, looking for original wood flute and diatonic accordion songs, or bagpipe-style touches original from little known regions such as A Limia, Frieiras, and Navia, among others.Along with the melodic line guided mainly by traditional Galician instruments (bagpipe, flute, accordion), and others more atypical like the anglo concertina, the harmonic part is completed by the bouzouki and the double bass, creating an acoustic sound, reworked in a way matching the works that are made today in the European Atlantic folk.Sets of muñeiras, jotas, alboradas, pasacalles and piruxaldas follow one another, mixed with more leisurely themes such as alalás, cantos de reyes, waltzes or mazurcas, typical of the south of Ourense.
