Following his first solo LP, “EGO”, in 2015, and the book-CD “Manual ególatra básico” in 2017, the eclectic bagpiper and composer from Carril, Cristian Silva, releases his new album, “Un home tranquilo” (2025). The title is full of contrast and symbolism. It is in this contrast that the strength of an album committed to rebellious calm in a turbulent world is born. Because sometimes, being calm is the most transgressive act.‘Un home tranquilo’ is an ambitious and unclassifiable work, where tradition dialogues without prejudice: bagpipes, flutes and electric hurdy-gurdy coexist with distorted guitars, enveloping synthesizers and rhythmic sections that move between folk, funk, indie, progressive rock, but also jazz improvisations.A work of fluid identity, strong and serene, which never loses touch with the earth.Cristian is surrounded by top-class musicians who enrich every beat: Miguel Lamas (Dani Martín, Pablo Alborán) and Niño Bruno (Leiva, Calamaro) on drums, Pablo Pérez (Zahara, Fuel Fandango, Loquillo) on bass and guitars, tenor saxophone by Xosé Miguélez, brass by Antonio Rodríguez Iborra (Dakidarría, Transilvanians), bass by Adrián Saavedra, vocals and tambourine by Ana Fernández (Déixaas, Mercedes Peón), and a special featuring from Igloo, a leading figure in Galician indie music.
