MUUM

MUUM emerged in 2015 as a result of the artistic and musical collaboration between Manuel Fonte (Chotokoeu) and María Move. The duo begins their journey together with the composition and recording of music for stage dance and new circus performances as "Contiguo" (Cía IO, 2015) or "Ulises e a nena durmida" (Cía Anxela Blanco, 2016).

Their work is a mix between atmospheres and sound environments with electronic and voices, contributing a personal touch to their compositions and creating a path on which MUUM walks.

Throughout 2016 and 2017, they choose to polish the traditional music and rhythms of the Galician land; "Peixe", "Dime" and "Nanasmuum" happen, and MUUM begins a parallel band for the musical creation aimed to stage pieces, moment when Guillermo Cortiñas joins and they name it Trío MUUM, offering independent tracks of their own creation. In December 2017 they participated in the Premios da Cultura Galega, with the adaptation of the cantiga "Ondas do mar de Vigo", from the Pergamino Vindel by Martín Códax.

MUUM are María Move (creator, musician, singer, performer, dancer), Manuel Fonte (creator, musician, percussionist, sound technician) and Guillermo Cortiñas (sound technician, researcher of electronic sounds and new trends). The trio is joined by dancers Nuria Sotelo and Cris Vilariño who, together with María Move, develop the scenic proposal "MUUM máis DANZA", in which they offer contemporary music and dance at the same time.
