After more than 10 years experimenting with reggae through different bands, projects, and soundsystems, in 2023 Brais Ninguén (Ourense, 1991) became fully independent in his musical creation in order to shape his new project.In it, reggae blends with different musical influences, progressive structures, shifting rhythms, and psychedelia, seeking to break away from the expectations and clichés of the genre without losing its essence or respect for reggae music.To bring the project to the stage, he formed the band Couto 90 together with friends and new collaborators. Throughout 2025, they recorded their first album together: “Roots & Shadows”.“Roots & Shadows”, besides being their introduction, is also a true statement of intent: a musical journey that begins with the deepest roots reggae and moves through different sonic atmospheres, exploring darkness, jazz, funk, and psychedelia. Ten tracks that speak about the roots that keep our feet on the ground and the shadows that destroy us, where, above all else, the music takes center stage.“Roots & Shadows” is now available digitally on all streaming platforms and on vinyl.
