Noar

Noar is a musical project born in 2013 as Iago Marta & Rubén Fernández to share years of experience shared by its members: Rubén Fernández (vocals, loops, cajón) and Iago Marta (guitars, effects). Both musicians, originally from Vigo, had already been part of several music projects both in Galicia and in Catalonia and the duo's formula seemed a logical continuation of their team work, as well as a new way to continue exploring in their respective musical careers.

The project is based on original compositions that gather numerous influences, including Galician lyrics and instrumental pieces, jazz-inspired improvisation, sonic landscapes based on various effects and sound loops or author songs with a popular spirit.

At the end of that year, they publish their first work, “Son do Mar” (2013), touring around Galicia and Catalonia during the next two years both in festivals (nunOFF in Barcelona, Noche Blanca de Vigo, Cicle de Música Creativa de La Seu d'Urgell) and in concert halls.

At the end of 2018, after a time focused on other projects and again established in Vigo with a new name for the duo, they begin to compose and shape what will be their next work: a video series of six new original tracks, performed and recorded live at Goián’s Auditorium (Tomiño) in September 2019. The sound recording is provided by Jose Trincado and the AV materials by the filmmaker Sara Traba.
