Emilio Rúa

Emilio Rúa has more than 35 years of experience.

From the early age of 7, Emilio played in the family orchestra "Concorde Atenea" along with his 4 big brothers and his father.

His debut album titled after his name, came out in the year 2000 with unreleased tracks (Edicións do Cumio 2000). Later on "Vida Miña" (Boamusic 2006), "Interior" (Paimúsica 2009) and a book/disc with poet and writer Xosé Carlos Caneiro (Galaxia 2010).

It is important also to mention his two national awards as a singer songwriter "Ceutí" and "Elche". One of the many characteristics from Emilio is that he always sings in Galician.

In 2012 a fifth album was released called "Destino Sur" produced by Emilio Rúa and Segundo Grandío with a sound influenced by American folk (a music style that Emilio notices to have a strong connection with Galician music) but without lacking his characteristic personal touch.

Songs of his own authorship and covers share this beautiful album that breathes American, Southern and Ourense air. Some of them are "La Chica de Ayer" by Antonio Vega, "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" from the movie The Wizard of Oz, "Miña Maruxa" by Andrés do Barro or the remake of "María Soliña" (a classic Galician song).
