Miguel Moldes

Miguel Moldes is a guitarist and songwriter based in the city of Vigo, off Spain’s north-western coast. Captivated at an early age by the spell music-making casts, Miguel soon started playing with bands such as Los Wavy Gravies, Dead Wood or Vatapá. However, it wasn’t until his mid-twenties when his skills as a guitarist gave way to a broader version of his artistic persona as a devoted songwriter and intimist musician.

Accompanied by clean poignant melodies, his lyrics span from his own most personal feelings to universally human experiences, such as longing, memory or existential anguish. Anchored in the deep connection he professes to both the uniqueness of his environment and his musical honesty, his debut album, “Fairground Ballads” (2025) juggles feelings of nostalgia and loneliness with a huge array of literary and musical influences, merging the poetry of García Lorca with the sound of blues and folk.

In “Fairground Ballads”, Miguel has teamed up with mates and musicians Sandra Gómez (Sanny), Anxo Paz (ForaOstias) and Alejandro Neira (Boa Sunet), delivering an exquisite record that opens a window to the universe of an artist that, not only feels like a breath of fresh air, but is a real whirlwind.
