MCarballo, just like the rhythm one, two, one, two, three, finds the balance of their flight with their third album “Mediados de abril”, after taxiing on the runway with “On your Pillow” and then taking off with “You knew it”, driven by the experience of its members. They get height with “Mediados de abril”, an album in which, after checking that their last experiences had put them in the right place, they bring out all the sounds and melodies that don't come on the first try, but with maturity. This is what we find in this album, not the rage of a band that is starting, but the arrival at a destination marked by the songs and in which the melodies are played with the ease of one who is playing native music, their own music. He was raised in Ourense, by the riverbank of river Miño, listening to what the blues musicians on the riverbanks of Mississippi were creating. He was able to take his ears to more arid grounds to listen to country that comes from the dusty desert, wet it with the Galician rain and finally, like it has been since the beginning of time, end up in a Galician beach to sing to the the sea in a storm of sun, rock and fresh water. “Mediados de abril” offers a pure sound, kept clean by the distortion of the guitar. Voice, guitar, bass and drums. That is the essence, what else? That's the way to start. Sometimes evolution is not in the number of instruments, but in knowing how many are needed to say what you want to say. Don't touch it again, so is the rose, said the poet.
