Koroiev is a project belonging to the musician and educator Roberto Casteleiro (Ferrol, 1982), also in charge of other adventures such as Korokati, Federico Flesfa or Fagot & Popota. It is not easy to keep him within the bounds of a specific genre, his compositions are portrayed by a mixture of orchestral, folk, ambient, poetry, progressive rock and electronic music. Acoustic instruments, synths and his voice come together to create imaginary landscapes whose most prominent component is its strong narrative nature, which becomes clearly stated in “Kostia Bogomov” (2015). Through passages of ‘Longa noite de pedra’ by Celso Emilio Ferreiro, he builds a story around a young man who enters the forest and finds night, nature and even far-off times. This dark and delicate meeting between the character and the afterlife makes the album, and its relevant show, an unexpected and attractive journey. In 2020, Koroiev released “Valverde” under the local label Ferror Records, becoming finalist in the Electronics category at the VII Martín Códax Awards.
