Superblack

Superblack is a band born in Madrid in the summer of 2020 by Santi Iglesias (vocals), Pablo Seoane (guitar) and Lois Afonso (guitar), three veteran musicians with different influences but with a common link: rock.

From there, a project was born where musical differences, far from subtracting, add up, becoming the engine of an open and inclusive form of expression that accepts inspiration from very different styles. The collaboration in the recordings of Dani Mourinho on bass and Suso Valcárcel on drums only multiplies this musical plurality that aims to bring together the widest possible variety of audiences.

At the end of 2021 they officially presented themselves with the release of their first single, ‘Roto’, after which they released as a single all the songs that would later form part of their first album, “H2O” (2024), ten alternative rock metal songs that are a sample of the diversity that characterises the band; songs cooked slowly, with attention to detail and with open-mindedness and evolution as signs of identity.

“H2O” was entirely recorded, mixed and mastered by Guillermo “Will” Maya at Los Rosales Residential Studio in Madrid. With the occasion of the album release, on 18 October 2024, the video clip of ‘Afuera’, a cover version of the Mexican band Caifanes and included in the album, was also released.
