Monkillos was born halfway between the harmonic universe of Thelonious Monk and the rhythmic overflowing of Afro-Cuban and flamenco tradition... unpretentious but with a rewarding ambition: present a different view of the great creative genius of twentieth century. An organic group and instrumentation give elasticity and freshness to these compositions that are already eternal.
