The pianist Alberto Vilas is the author of all the pieces that feature in the repertoire of this quintet created in 2009 and that is completed by Rosolino Marinelo on the saxophone, Felipe Villar on the guitar, Juansy Santomé on the bass and Javier Barral Carro on the drums.

In late 2010 these five musicians recorded their work and a year later they edited the album "Experianza" that they later on performed around Galicia, participating in major jazz festivals such as Imaxinasons de Vigo, Via Stellae de Compostela, Nigranjazz, Festival de Jazz de Lugo and in July 2013 in the Festival de Blues y Jazz de Pontevedra, where they were very well received by the audience and where they received very good reviews.

Chromatic Chronicle (2014) is the second album of Alberto Vilas Quinteto. Music with a large dose of jazz but also full of other music that belong to the music of the pianist and composer of this band, Alberto Vilas: from classical music and tango to contemporary music and rock. This music is primarily jazz, improvised music, but it also has very important components of his music trajectory over so many years.

The quintet gives the freshness of improvisation great importance, to the spontaneous and unpredictable, but they also work continuously on finding a sound that identifies them as a group and today they can say that they have found their own style.
