Amesmalúa is a band of musicians from different backgrounds who offer a journey of encounters, pairings of memory and passion, between flamenco and Galician folk, a proposal linked to improvised music with roots in folklore. Besides using popular songs, ballads and adaptations, Amesmalúa also composes their own songs with the imprint of a unifying character. Voices accompanied by the unmistakable sound of an exceptional flamenco guitar and exceptional wind instruments, leaving space for improvisation, with flamenco sounds, jazz and ethnic percussion. One step in between picaresque and melancholy, between an accomplice and festive gesture and the mystery of fairy tales and legends. In 2013, the band self-produced their album La misma luna, edited via crowfunding and distributed by 18Chulos Records. This first album was promoted in many theaters and festivals around Spain: Teatro Colón, in A Coruña, or the Teatro Principal in Santiago, Teatro Corral de Comedias in Alcalá de Henares; and festivals such as Womad in Cáceres, Rítmo Étnicos of Radio 3, Estivalia in Extremadura, Sons Tránsitos in Santiago, or La Escena Encendida in Andalusia, and especially in the Womad Charlton Park concert in England or a concert they offered in Algiers thanks to the Embassy and Instituto Cervantes in Algiers in April 2014.
