ARIFI is a roots-music project recently created. Even though it is born in Galicia, the group is composed by musicians from all over the world: Venezuela, Belarus and, of course, different Galician cities, besides collaborating with Mediterranean artists sucha as Ramy Malouf, Lebanese flautist.It is the Mediterranean Sea the one ARIFI looks up to, fusing roots music, starting from Northern Spain, with Arab-Andalusian rhythms and tunes and current beats, as well as their own work.The group has been greatly welcomed by the general public and the critics and, being only one year old, they have already been played in halls, theaters and music festivals aroung the country (Teatro de Barakaldo, Sala Altxerri Donostia, Centro Niemeyer Avilés, Festival Burgo Jazz, Noite Branca Vigo, etc.). The key to their success is the originality of the project, the appealing tunes and the staging, where the oriental dance ensures a strong presence.
