A banda da Loba

Made up of five women who decided to unite their individual careers to give voice to this new project, the creation of their own repertoire stands out, based both on their own lyrics and on setting to music famous poets or texts from the poetry books of contemporary women writers. All in an eclectic and heterogeneous style that draws from rock, pop, or folk, making her repertoire a fantastic musical kaleidoscope.

They released their first album in December 2017, "Bailando as rúas", with Adrián Saavedra on the music production and the collaborations of Guadi Galego and Tanxugueiras. After achieving a huge success and giving more than seventy concerts over a year and a half inside and outside Galicia, they launch their second album in 2019, ”Fábrica de luz"; an album of creation, reflection and tribute around the idea of “mother”, understood in a broad sense. Language and earth are the first mothers, light factories. The creators who preceded us and those who accompany us on this journey are also light factories. Our mothers, yours, all mothers are light factories. They are home, time and unconditional love; power, struggle and memory.

They are currently touring with their latest EP "Hasme oír", an album entirely dedicated to Xela Arias, author honoured on Galician Literature Day 2021.

A banda da Loba are: Andrea Porto Mato (bass), Estela Rodríguez Carvalho (violin), Inés Mirás (guitars), Marcela Porto (percussion) and Xiana Lastra (voice).
