Alexandre Cabanelas Trío is a jazz project born from the hands of saxophonist Alexandre Cabanelas, from Ourense, who, after the dissolution of 4Mal Quartet Jazz, decided to embark on a new path. This ensemble was created with the intention of exploring new sonorities within jazz, drawing on classics reworked toward jazz fusion while at the same time incorporating original compositions.The trio is made up of Alexandre Cabanelas on saxophones, Efrén Nóvoa on electric bass, and Héctor Pérez on drums, three musicians with extensive experience in different styles, having been part of various groups and recordings. This combination of instruments allows for a versatile, dynamic sound full of nuance, in which each instrument plays a fundamental role, generating a freedom of improvisation that is not possible in larger ensembles.In August 2026, the trio released its first single, "Beatrice," which serves as a preview of the album due out in October. This first track showcases the spirit of the trio: honest, fresh music with a modern, accessible sound that does not sacrifice the complexity and richness of improvisation.Alexandre Cabanelas Trío thus presents itself as an ensemble seeking to establish itself within the Galician scene with a solid, contemporary proposal full of personality.
