Mónica de Nut (voice) together with musician Luís Martíns (acoustic and electric harp) records her third album “Raíces aéreas” (Free Code, 2016) with the collaboration of Lucía Martínez (percussion, hurdy-gurdy and sonorous objects).“The collection of field recordings in Galicia is the inspiring element for this work, songs of women that convey all their ancestral force; raw, vital and powerful, they connect us to the root of knowledge, where we come from and what is our essence. We recreate that heritage through the traditional acoustic sonority of the voice and the harp plus the improvisation and experimentation from more electronic sounds.”Both de Nut and Martíns are distinguished for the particular way they use their instruments; a voice with different pitches and ranges and a harp, with rhythm patterns and rare effects that we are not used to listen to.After the success of “Mónica de Nut Trío”(2012), “Dos fíos invisibles chegan as cores” (2013) arrives, her second album where she joins forces with artits Virxilio da Silva, Marcelo DoBode and Javi GDjazz. The singer keeps emphazising the combination of classical music, jazz, rock and galician tradition; the hope is found in the unexpected things, in the invisible threads which bring the colors that show up. The repertoire comes from traditional tunes, Baroque music and her own lyrics mixed with delays, distortions and acoustic tunes with a deeper performance than in the previous work, hearthbreaking and uninhibited that allows the subtlety of the unseen to come in.
