Brañas Folk

Brañas Folk is a band born in Ourense in 2002, a musical project created by Manuel Brañas after his career with the famous group Arco da Vella, one of the big names in Galician music in what was the great boom in Galician folk in the 80s.

Manuel Brañas began his labour in the Workshop of the Deputation of Lugo, in the construction of popular instruments, at the same time he also taught how to play them. Later on he became director of the Bagpipe School of the Deputation of Ourense, combining his teaching work as director with the construction of instruments in the school's workshop.

Brañas Folk: Manuel Brañas (Galician bagpipes, harp, whistle, hurdy-gurdy); Ana Rodríguez Dosouto (voice); José Antonio Blanco (guitar); Olga Brañas (keyboards, piano, tambourine and pandero); Aser Álvarez (percussion and drums); Leonardo Blanco (violin), Isidro García (accordion) e Eduardo Balvís (electric bass).
