Juyma Estevez Trio

Juyma Estévez Trío is a double bass player from Bueu with great experience playing jazz, classical music, rock and folk.

He began at the Seminario Permanente de Jazz (Pontevedra) and the conservatories of Pontevedra and Santiago, obtaining the Professional Music Degree. He then moved to Donostia, where he obtained a higher music title majoring in double bass from Musikene.

He played at some of the most important jazz festivals nationwide (Heineken Jazzaldia, Paljazz, Canjazz, Imaxinasons, Festival de Jazz de Lugo, Pontejazz, Nigranjazz) accompanying different artists, as well as in countless clubs (Altxerri Jazz Club, Bilbaina Jazz Club, Filloa Jazz Club, Xancarajazz, Clavicémbalo, Casa de Arriba).

He recorded with numerous bands that range from the jazz of Lakunza Brothers (Impulse Jazz Prize 2011), David Regueiro Swingtet ("On Stage" 2014, "Bird Lives" 2015), Green With Envy (2016), to the country-blues of Gold&Colt ("Live" 2016), the folk of Xabi Aburruzaga ("Neure" 2013) or the classic of the JOSG.

As an arranger and composer for big band, his work "Montañas de Holas a Dioses" stands out, “MDHYAD” was premiered at the Teatro de los Campos Elíseos (Bilbao) by Musikene's big band directed by Bob Sands.

In 2013 he returned to Galicia and formed Juyma Estevez Trío with Alberto Vilas (piano) and Max Gómez (drums), recording his first work as leader, "Océanos de porcelana" (2014).

In 2017 he formed a new trio with David Regueiro (guitar) and Noli Torres (drums), with whom he published "Viento del Norte" (2018).
