Lucía Pérez was born on July 5th, 1985 in Incio (Lugo). From a very young age, she began to participate in several children’s programmes, music contests and, at only 17 years old, she wins the Televisión de Galicia contest “Canteira de cantareiros” and records her first album, “Amor y amores” (2003), work that makes her win the Disco de Ouro Galego award. In the spring of 2005, her artistic career is supported by the award Disco-Pop de Solistas Gallegos and, at the end of the same year, she publishes her second album, “El tiempo dirá...” (2006), going along with her designation to represent Spain at the Festival de Viña del Mar with the song “Qué haría contigo”, earning the second place.In 2006, her song “Amarás miña terra” is selected by the Academia de la Música as the finalist candidate for Mejor Canción en Gallego of Premios de la Música. In december of 2008, her third album is published, at the same time, in Spain and Chile, “Volar por los tejados” (2008), and at the beginning of 2010 she starts recording her fourth album, “Dígocho en galego” (2010), the first entirely in Galician.In February 2011 Lucía is chosen to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest by popular vote with the song “Que me quiten lo bailao”. Nowadays, she keeps promoting her latest album, “Quitapenas” (2014), performing not only in Spain, but inother countries such as England, Holland, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Argentina or Brazil.
