Ukestra do Medio is a ukulele group founded in Santiago de Compostela at the end of 2013, covering different songs with ukuleles, bass and cajón. From rock'n'roll, country, swing or pop classics, to traditional Galician or Portuguese music, tangos, bossanovas, cumbias or boleros.During its first years, they toured around Galicia playing live in small bars, clubs, social centres and some festivals. In 2017, they collaborated with Os Novos in the recording of their single "Assalto Acústico" and, at the end of that same year, they released a CD of four songs titled "em princípio...". (2017), that they present in a small tour around the UK, and later in concerts and festivals in Galicia and northern Portugal.In 2020, they released "Outras Lérias", an album where, for the first time, they offer their own songs, all sung in Galician and with influences ranging from the most intimate pop to surf, power pop or country, played with ukuleles, bass and cajón. Although that does not stop them from adapting songs by their favourite artists, such as The Housemartins, Suso Vaamonde, Roger Miller or Roberto Carlos during his 60’s period.
