El Último Ciclista is the musical project of Gabrulo García, a Montevidean adopted by Galicia.With the impulse of immersing himself in creation during the nights of the past year, a first album of twelve Ibero-American indie pop songs is released, giving the pedal to this cyclist adventure."Tomando este camino" (2023) was recorded entirely in the Cruz del Sur studios, a few metres from the Balaídos stadium, co-produced by Sergio M. Puga and mixed in Madrid by Lucas Piedra Cueva, a lifelong brother of musical adventures.To perform this repertoire live, the band triangulates with members from A Coruña, Vigo and Ferrol; the first tracks are being released month by month: "Empecinado" and "La esperanza del gusano" ft. Miguel Ángel Escrivá (Santero y Los Muchachos).Although the album has a classic sound and instrumentation, the songs wander between humour, melancholy, existentialism and fantasies. Harmonies and clean lyrics are the key to the language used to narrate everyday life situations.
