Mel de Meiga (MdM) is a Galician folk group that has been making noise since 2012. In our music, we aim to blend the rhythms and sounds of our homeland with more alternative genres such as reggae, ska, rock, and even punk. The result is a powerful and fresh musical style that conveys great strength and energy, and which, through our own socially conscious lyrics, seeks to open minds and encourage reflection on some of the problems and challenges that most affect this poor world we live in.After years of forced silence, in 2026 we are pleased to present our latest record. It consists of five studio tracks recorded by our dear producer, Javier Vicalo, at Escusalla Sonora studios, along with a bonus live track taken from one of our most recent concerts in our hometown of Arbo. With this album, which we have titled “Sen Medo” (“Without Fear”), we aim to release all the energy and anger we have been building up over the years, resulting in a very powerful and energetic sound, as well as bold, socially committed lyrics—quite different from those of our first album, “Crecente.” The result, we’re sure, will not leave you indifferent.
