The diversity characterizes Mauricio Caruso as the musician he is. Educated at the University of São Paulo, he covers contemporary music, erudite, jazz, pop, rock, black music and Brazilian popular music; as an instrumentalist he plays several stringed instruments, such as the classical, acoustic and electric guitar or the cavaquinho, among others.Caruso worked as a sideman for many Brazilian artists such as Sandy, Aricia Mess, Lobão, Beatriz Rodarte, Dandara, Mano Brown, Zalon Thompson, as well as great producers. He was also part of the band Black Rio, who played with artists such as Ed Mota, Sandra de Sá, Seu Jorge and participated in the Fan Fest of the FIFA World Cup South Africa (2010).Musical arranger and producer, he took part in many recordings and, in addition, has 4 solo albums: "Tradução del Instrumento" (2000), "Reflexos da Noite" (2008), "Christmas Strings" (2012) and "Mundo Amarelo (2013)".Caruso is a member of the Jota Erre band, with the multi-instrumentalist as co-producer and guitarist, and they have released two albums: "Por Extenso" and "Binário", with which they toured Europe for two years (Portugal, Spain, England) and the United States (SXSW, Austin, 2016).He currently lives in Galicia, where he plays with various musicians from around the world who live in the region, as well as being part of the Brazilian music trio, Choro Alegre. His new solo album, "Meus Camiños pola Galicia" (2018), was released in early August 2018.
