
Sergio Franqueira, born in Ordes in 1981, is a classical guitarist who graduated from CMUS (Professional Conservatory of Music) of A Coruña, with honors from the Fundación Paideia-Xunta de Galicia. He holds a master's degree in guitar by Uex and a post-graduate course from the Universidad de las Artes Mozarteum, where some of his instructors were Euloxio Albalat, Ricardo Gallén and the legendary Eliot Fisk. In addition, he's got a Bachelor's degree in advanced studies on twentieth-century Spanish music from USC, and he's currently studying his PhD. He was an intern at the County Council of A Coruña and Fundación Segundo Gil Dávila. He was a teaching assistant for professor José Luis Rodrigo at the Cursos de Música en Compostela and won the award of "Fundación Victoria y José Luis Rodrigo". He has performed throughout Spain and Galicia, for example in the Semana de la Guitarra in Vigo or the Rosalia theater in A Coruña, and most recently he performed in the Fundación Juan March in Madrid and in Ealing Guitar Society in London. He is one of the dedicatees of the work "Espejos" by Francisco Merino. He has recorded two solo albums: "Impresiones" and "Recuerdos de España". He currently works as a guitar teacher at the Conservatory of Melide.
