With two CD releases (“Canciones de Pan”, 2014 and “Cataratas”, 2015), Rubén Artabe, Galician musician and songwriter, lover of personal art, risk-taker, innovator and restless, starts a new musical phase, marked by personal changes and a new path towards an evolution and experimentation in his concept of music.Rubén has been in the music scene since the 90’s, playing in various rock groups over the years (Poetas Urbanos, Neusia, Fakir) where he developed his skills as a guitarist, composer and songwriter. In 2013 his creative life took a turn and he started to mark out his own path as a soloist, composing his own material. He was inspired by an intimate musical style, rich in poetry. Winner of the II Certamen Santiautor, Rubén Artabe emphasises the role of music as a tool of freedom and transformation.Artabe, a new identity charged with his own essence, and a new CD, “Punto Cero” (due for release in April 2016) marks this search for renewal and the shift in his career. An evolution towards a more electric and elaborate sound, full of textures and colours, songs close to pop, rock or hypnotic, psychedelic and ambient music. Artabe has moved to Madrid to soak up the cultural inertia of the city and at the same time, to be able to work with names like Manuel Cabezalí (Havalina, Lázaro, Miss Gi, Pupila, Rufus T. Firefly, Russian Red, etc.), among other professionals, with the aim of going deeper with this internal and musical search, both totally bound to his art.
