MJ Pérez

MJ Pérez is one of the highlight voices within the Galician music scene. She begins her career in 2014, gaining more than 150 shows in Galicia and Portugal since then. She has now has four records, one self-released and three self-produced.

From Arzúa, María José began creating her “Ollos que non ven, síntoma de cegueira”, her first album. She also begins offering her first shows, besides becoming finalist at the I Song Author Contest of Teo City Council in 2014. A year later, MJ released her second album, “Guerrilleira” (2015), 12 songs united by a common bond: war.

Influenced by the mix of genres and styles, her third album, “Casandra” (2017), was born, a record he artist releases after winning second place at the VII Musical Contest of the Deputation of A Coruña. MJ ends the year with a first place at the Xuventude Crea Contest.

In 2019, MJ Pérez is a finalist at the Martín Códax da Música Awards and releases her first single in Portuguese, ‘Vai Embora!’,

After two years on tour with "Casandra", MJ Pérez releases her fourth album "A Luz Prendida", in early 2020. An album consisting of 15 songs that follow a clear path in the songwriter's music, which maintains its essence but evolves incorporating new rhythms and musical genres to her compositions.
