In 1998, he moved to Santiago de Compostela, where he developed his career as an actor, musician and singer. He studied theatre, musical theatre and other performing disciplines while developing his career as a composer.For seven years, he works in different theatre companies as an actor, singer, musician and dancer, until he records his first album, "Nai" in 2009, which will result in the first tours that will take him abroad (Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Italy or France).In 2011, he releases "Magnético Zen", with which he wins the award for Best Album in Galician Language, at the the V MIN Awards. A few years later he releases his third album "Estamos no verán!", a children's book-CD also nominated at the VI MIN Awards. Around 2015, he has the opportunity to record his voice for the Galician-Cuban film "Maimiño", covering Silvio Rodríguez songs. That same year, he is a nominee in the Songwriting category at the Martín Códax Awards.“Ecuacións" (2016), his fourth album, is an experimental album recorded at Radio Galega studios along with Toño Vazquez,and with the violinist Julio Santín in São Paulo (Brazil). He toured the north of Italy performing in Milan, Como and Brunate.Throughout these years, Xoán takes part in different shows and festivals mainly linked to lusophony and singer-songwriter music. In 2021, he starts touring his latest work, inspired by Galician-Portuguese medieval lyrics, "Treides comigo!”.
