Budiño

BUDIÑO is an atypical artist. Never was harder to find someone awaking such admiration among his people. Tireless composer. Budiño´s music takes root into Galician tradition and delicately mixes it up with contemporary sound.

BUDIÑO has published 6 recording works untill now (Paralaia, Arredor, Zume de Terra, Home, Volta y Sotaque) all of them worldwide recognized by the specialased critics by winning renown awards, carrying his compositions throughout the world and filling up theatres in cities such as Shangai, Damasco, Beirut, Casablanca, Tanger, Frankfurt, Milano, Glasgow, Buenos Aires, Bogotá and Mexico D.F.

Sotaque is the sixth recording work of Budiño. It was firstly recorded in “Ardora”, his studio, and afterwords was mixed and remastered at Atlântico Blue Studios, Lisboa.

This self-composed work reflects the mark of traditional music and percussion from Galicia, always played and polished by hand, along electronics with the distinctive Budiño´s accent, the one at Sotaque´s. A conceptual work where different bagpipes, percussion and Galician vocalists have the labour of setting the rhythm throughout nine musics composed by Budiño and a traditional piece full of gentleness and vitality.

Guests in Budiño´s new work make his SOTAQUE to be mixed into hundreds of percussive layers that where used for recording: ANTONIO ZAMBUJO, LUIS TOSAR, OS CANTAREIROS DE O FIADEIRO and MICHAEL McGOLDRICK
