Bolboreta

Bolboreta is Lydia Botana’s favourite word, a multi-instrumentalist (accordion, piano, guitar, ukulele and percussion), composer and singer, a native of A Coruña but a citizen of the world, very committed to education in order to make a better world, which is why she also makes music for children.

Bolboreta's concerts are a mixture of sunny and mixed music! World music that fusion different genres such as reggae, latin music, rap, rumba or cumbia. She also cover traditional Galician songs such as “Túa nai é meiga” or Bob Marley's reggae.

The songs talk about respect between cultures of the world in equality, a way to overcome the adversities of life always with optimism and hope. Taking Spanish and Galician as the basis for the texts, lyrics in Italian, French and English are also in the mix.

Since 2013, Bolboreta, which means "butterfly" in Galician, has flown around festivals, schools and concert halls on several international tours that have taken her music to places like France, Morocco, Italy, Japan, Denmark, Niger, Chile, Luxembourg, Ivory Coast, etc.

She has collaborated with artists such as: Gogol Bordello, Gambeat (Manu Chao / Mano Negra), Desorden Público, Amparanoia, La Pegatina and Green Valley.

Some of her albums are: "Metamorfose" (2015), "Vuelo" (Kasba Music, 2017), "DjClick & Bolboreta" (No Fridge, 2019).
